De La Salle Meteors 18
Simeon Wolverines 12
There was no shortage of offense as both teams combined for 30 runs and 31 hits but Simeon has some dust to knock off as they allowed 11 walks and committed 6 errors in their season opener.
De La Salle jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of 1 led by a 2 RBI double from senior catcher/1B #12 Kaleb Navarro. A 2 run HR by senior 3B Christian Lott sparked a 4 run top of 2 for the Wolverines to tie the game. The Meteors scored 3 in the bottom half and a huge 7 run bottom of 3 gave them a 14-4 lead. It looked like the 10 run mercy rule would end the game after 5 but Simeon scored 4 in the top of 4 to stay alive. De La Salle came back with 2 in the bottom of 4 with RBIs from senior RF Quinn Bell & junior 2B #3 Oisin Curry to seal the deal.
